Enliven The Chakras – Yoga with few Postures

Sundays from 10AM – 11:45

April 8, 15, 22, 29

May 6, 27 and June 3 and 17

Tap into the wealth of yoga techniques to reduce stress and insomnia, and to increase your sense of calm, wellbeing, and concentration. When we say the word yoga, we are often referring to postures. This 8-week series will introduce participants to yoga’s diverse toolkit, which is known to be even more powerful when used holistically. We will explore time tested breath work, relaxation, visualization, sounding, and meditation, as well as movement, through a life-affirming framework; yoga to enliven all aspects of our lives, not to help us hide out in our blindspots. All techniques will be explained with reference to both scientific research and the yoga wisdom tradition.

Chétana has been teaching and writing about yoga and holistic living both in Canada and India for the last two decades. She has an MA in adult education and enjoys finding new ways to share kernels from the Indian wisdom traditions and to explore together how we can apply them to our modern lives in community. She teaches through the Akhanda approach to holistic and life-affirming yoga.

Satsang – Yoga without Postures

Join me for meaningful time in community and in a safe ritual space. At satsang we ritually open the space for chanting, spoken word, visualization, transformational work including the use of symbols and meditation. There are themes for each evening, but we leave space for the ritual to unfold collectively and naturally.

Upcoming Dates:

Wed. January 24 (7 – 8:30 PM)

Wed. February 7 (7 – 8:30 PM)

Thurs. February 22 (7 – 8:30 PM)

Donation Based:

Satsang is a donation-based event. I love to hold space for community to come together for ritual and upliftment. If you appreciate the dedication and continuity of the Satsang program, please leave a donation between $5 and $10 per event, but don’t let cost be a bar to your participation. Donations will help me with my ongoing tuition at UBC. Being an MFA student at UBC allows me to connect with other Canadian authors and emerging writers. I thank you for your support!
